Becoming a Client

My goal with Renovate Financial Planning is to create a long term advisory relationship with each client. I understand that working with a financial advisor requires an incredible amount of trust and transparency. It is a serious decision that should not be made quickly.

The “Becoming A Client” process is designed for each of us to get to know each other before making any commitments or paying for anything.

There is no pressure to sign up and I would encourage you to take your time before signing the paperwork.

1. Introductory Phone Call

This meeting is a chance for you to tell me about yourself, your background, and what you're looking for. I'll give you a brief introduction of myself and my firm, who I work with, and how I like to work with my clients. (about 20 minutes)

2. Discovery Meeting

This meeting is for us to get acquainted with each other and for me to get to know your overall financial situation and goals. During this meeting we’re evaluating whether your situation fits my expertise. You can ask any questions about my background, the firm, and how I implement my planning philosophy. (1-2 hours)

3. Planning Proposal Meeting

After a comprehensive review of your financial situation I will present you with an organized picture of your financial situation which I call your draft financial plan. We will discuss options to meet your goals as well as concrete next steps for you to complete.

If you would like to move forward and work together we can begin the appropriate paperwork to formalize our relationship. This is very low pressure and I encourage you not to sign anything if you aren’t comfortable in the meeting. You can always take make your final decision after you’ve had a chance to sleep on it and talk it over with your spouse or other professionals. (1-2 hours)
